Nelson House Medicine Lodge

Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, Manitoba

The Nelson House Medicine Lodge provides drug and alcohol abuse treatment programs, providing the necessary tools to First Nation families to rebuild their families with functional relationships.

This project encompassed various renovations across the center, as well as a roof replacement. Our team was contracted by the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation to produce construction documents for these renovations. We worked closely with the Executive Director to determine a realistic project schedule and budget.

Our team worked closely with the Medicine Lodge’s staff to establish a functional program, informing the design documents as the progressed. As a team, the contractor, project managers, designers and funding authorities worked together to provide a solution that resulted in the successful renovation and completion of the project.

The Medicine Lodge was restored to a world-class facility for staff and residents to occupy. The location of this project required additional coordination and detailed project planning to ensure the availability and successful delivery of materials to the Northern location. Communication was impetus to a positive completion of this project.
