Jordan's Principle Program

Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba

Jordan's Principle is a child first initiative program spreading across Canada. The program space offers a variety of therapy services for First Nation children that were previously only offered in urban centers.

GW Architecture Inc believes in the full implementation of these programs in First Nation communities across the country and is honoured to be participating in the design of their spaces.

The Jordan's Principle Program space in Sandy Bay First Nation is our second project for this initiative. The space accommodates behavioural therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy and multi-purpose space for cooking lessons and group activities. The treatment spaces are complete with observation rooms and anchor points for sensory swings.

Our interiors department embraced this child-friendly space with bright colours and engaging shapes. A toy train track is designed along the wall of the reception to entertain children while they wait for their appointments. A sweeping, colourful arc guides clients through the space to brightly painted doors for their appointments.

The project was complete March 2019 within budget.
